We are hosting a first-ever panel where key retail industry leaders start a conversation around the state of the IoT industry. They’ll discuss current challenges of retailing connected products and the implications of a complex retail customer experience to answer the question, “Is there a simpler way to land complex IoT solutions for the customer at the point of sale?” We’ll also discuss how different stakeholders are partnering to improve the customer experience. The panel will provide real-time feedback to early stage innovators whose channel strategies include retail distribution.

  • How do retailers view the new categories of IoT and the potential value beyond transactional?
  • What roadblocks keep us from making it easier for customers?
  • How do customers’ expectation of retailers change as products become increasingly connected across customers’ homes, health and cars?
  • Staples, Lowes and other major retailers have jumped into the home automation. Is platform openness still even a question?
  • How to navigate the complexity of partnering with service providers, platforms, carriers, ODM’s and OEM’s?
  • What are some potential disruptive game changers that could favor retail distribution?

A number of entrepreneurs from pre-vetted early-stage companies whose innovative products are market-ready will receive real-time feedback from the panel. Product “pitches” will be short and focused—customers spend about 30 seconds of attention at point of sale so we will see firsthand as companies show their product in a manner that can be understood by customers. Led by Sprosty Network’s Channel Accelerator leader, Rick Rommel, audience members and panelists alike will be allowed to give live feedback as the companies give their “elevator pitch”.

Moderator: Dave Sprosty, Managing Partner Sprosty Network

Panelists:

  • Kris Bowring, Director of Business and Channel Development, Lowe’s Companies Inc.
  • Matthew Deatrick, Business Development, Connected Devices, Verizon
  • Craig Crandall, Innovations Manager, Costco Wholesale

Retail Leaders Networking Event: Retail Connection

At the conclusion of the Keynote Panel, we will be hosting a networking cocktail event in the CTIA VIP Club from 5pm-7pm. This event will begin when the show floor closes and the session has ended. With retail now comprising the largest share of CTIA attendees, CTIA Super Mobility 2015 is the ideal time to network with the top leaders in the retail industry; mingle and discuss the future of retailing connected life successfully.
